Right then! Let's get started!
Celebrity/Canon Claim: Astrid and Stormfly
What's your name? Astrid Haddock.
How old are you? Twenty-five.
Are you a boy or a girl? I'm a woman.
Do you have a tribe? I'm a member of the Hairy Hooligan tribe.
Do you have any dragons? Stormfly is my dragon. She's a sweet blue deadly nadder, but also one of the most dangerous and well-trained dragons you'll find on Berk. We've been together for about ten years now.
I'm afraid I lost my eyesight long ago. What do you look like?
Compared to most viking women you'll meet I'm kind of on the smaller side, but I make up for it in agility. I have blonde hair with long bangs, and I usually braid the rest of it into a ponytail to keep it out of the way. Most of the time I wear a simple solid color shirt and a studded skirt, as well as cloth bracers, iron shoulder pads and a pouch to store supplies. I also like to keep my trusty battle axe around, just in case I run into any trouble.
Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I'm proud and headstrong, and I'll be the first to admit it. I'm also dedicated, meaning I don't easily give up on something once I've put my mind to it. I take pride in my fighting ability and skill with my axe, even though nowadays I rarely come across a reason to use them. Sometimes I have to be the serious one when Hiccup is off getting into trouble with Toothless. I don't always like to admit it, but I can be really kind and compassionate, especially toward my husband and my dragon. I have a great knowledge of dragons, especially since in recent years I've spent more time studying them. I have a strong competitive side as well, though it mostly comes out in dragon races. Overall, I tend to act as a voice of reason on Berk and occasionally offer a more realistic view to Berk's very optimistic chief.
Where do you come from?
As a girl, I always knew I was born to fight and kill dragons, and I never questioned it. I practiced and practiced for the day that I could enter Berk's dragon training. I spent a long time on 'water bucket duty' before I was finally admitted into dragon training. I thought I'd be the best, but I was surpassed only by the, at the time, scrawny toothpick named Hiccup. Though now I know how he did it, at the time I despised him for besting me in every challenge. Eventually though, I discovered his clearing where he trained. What I found, though, was a downed night fury. After some 'convincing' from Hiccup to go on a flight, everything suddenly changed.
Things escalated after that, and eventually I found myself with my own dragon. Hiccup, Snotlout, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, Fishlegs and I all changed Berk for the better by changing its view on dragons. Some time later, Hiccup and I got together. Berk faced a lot of challenges after that, including the death of Stoick the Vast, but we managed to pull through. Hiccup became chief and Toothless became alpha, and I've been by their side ever since. Nowadays I research dragons and take care of little problems, but I'd say my main job is pulling Hiccup back down to Berk when he gets his head up in the clouds again.
What's your main goal? I want to help keep Berk safe, but also extend our knowledge of dragons to other islands and settlements.
What are you good at? I'm a skiller fighter, but also a good negotiator. I like to think I'm also one of the most intelligent people on Berk, and I work well under pressure.
What sort of things do you dislike? I don't like losing, though I've learned to take that in stride. I don't like being away from Berk for too long, but at the same time I also don't like being stuck there for too long either.
