(Except older, stomach covered, and "tribal" tattoos instead of japanese ones lol)
Right then! Let's get started!
Celebrity/Canon Claim: Face claim here.
What's your name? Holly. Many call me Holly the Healer.
How old are you? 46
Are you a boy or a girl? Female, of course.
Do you have a tribe? I live in Berk with the Hairy Hooligan Tribe
Do you have any dragons? Yes, my Deadly Nadder, Lillydew. She is far from "deadly" though. She is decently younger than me at 17 years old. I raised her from a baby. She is a gorgeous girl. Her overall color is a dark pink color with turquoise spikes. The circles on her body are bordered by turquoise, but have a brown inner color. She is a very smart and kind girl. She loves kids and enjoys helping others. Also, she very protective of my daughter and mother, and of children in particular. I know she can fight, since I have trained her to be able to, but I also taught her to try and work things out before resorting to violence.
I'm afraid I lost my eyesight long ago. What do you look like?
One thing many notice about me is that I keep my hair cut very short. It is unpopular for many vikings my age, but I have no intention of marrying again. I cut my hair short after my husband disappeared. I did it as a sign that my "huband" will be my work alone. In addition, it keeps my hair out of my face when I work. I have a bit of a rounder face I guess. My eyes are much like the sun shining through a muddy lake. I wear a long fur cloak and a dark leather shirt. Like my daughter, I wear a brown belt to keep my medicine close at hand. For pants I wear just black cloth and dark brown leather boots. I have tribal tattoos running down both my arms, all of which have deep meaning to me. They are also traditional for the healer. My mother has a few, but I decided I wanted many. I stand about as tall as my daughter, maybe slightly taller. I have relatively small feet I guess. Also, I may seem skinny, but I do a lot of labor which makes me strong.
Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I am very calm, but I have to be to work with injured patients. I am understanding, patient, quiet....all the things you would expect from a healer. I use to be a bit happier I presume. When my husband died I became to consumed by my healing work I guess I became very serious. I enjoy children and being around others, but sometimes I find I enjoy the peace and quiet more. My husband always did the talking for me, and I guess my daughter does now. I am generally quiet unless someone is hurt. Than I am not afraid to yell out commands and ask questions.
I am very trusting of both dragons and people. I know everyone wants to be helped, but may be too prideful to ask for it. I guess I am a bit of a philosopher as well. I believe very strongly in Odin and hope to one day meet my husband in Valhalla. First, however, I believe I have to finish my work here on Berk.
Where do you come from?
When I was young, we still fought dragons. I was rather timid and didn't fight them, but my mother Gothi taught me to heal instead. My mother used to talk, unlike now. She was very wise, and taught me many medicines for humans. I fell in love with a fisherman later in my early adult years. I was out by the waters trying to gather some seaweed by the ocean. Suddenly, a Zippleback flew down from above and knocked my into the ocean. At the time I did not know how to swim. I know that is dangerous. A viking who lives on an island surrounded by water who doesn't know how to swim? I guess my mother just never taught me. Well, there I was in the ocean, flailing for help. I began to lose strength and slipped under the water, going unconscious. I felt strong hand around my waist and I was hoisted out of the water and onto the rocky bank. When I came to, I saw that it was.... my hubsand's friend that saved me! Well, I guess we dated for awhile, but he was too egotistical for me. So I eventually broke up with him and dated his friend instead--my husband. We got married soon after and had Kiira.
Little Kiira was just a baby when my husband died. I soon devoted myself to healing. It was probably to block the pain I felt losing him. When we made peace with the dragons, I began my training with my mother to learn to heal and take care of the dragons. Some of the same stuff we used on humans were also used on dragons, but some made them sick. It wasn't hard to learn.
One day, I found a single Nadder egg sitting in a nest in the forest while I was hunting for herbs. I waited awhile to see if the mother would come back, but she never did. To this day I am still not quite sure what happened to her. Looking back though, I realize there were a lot of skid marks and broken branches around her nest. Perhaps her mother died defending her nest... I took her back with me and raised her alongside my daughter. She is very mature for her age, and very caring.
My mother has now just retired as healer, but still does many of the ancient traditional rituals.
What's your main goal? To help others and to train my daughter successfully.
What are you good at? Helping others, healing,
What sort of things do you dislike? Fighting, my daughter focusing too much on dragons instead of healing
The Downed Dragon
